316 Stainless Steel Reducing Socket BSP

DESCRIPTION

316 Stainless Steel BSP Reducing Socket engineered for hygienic, corrosion-resistant plumbing in food & beverage processing, marine applications and corrosive industrial environments. Precision-machined from premium 316 stainless steel for long service life and reliable sealing.

What This Fitting Does

A reducing socket is used to join two male BSP-threaded components of different sizes. It provides a female-to-female connection that steps down thread size while maintaining strong mechanical integrity and clean internal flow.

Why Choose a Reducing Socket?

  • Ideal for reducing male threads inline without complex adapters.
  • Provides a deeper thread engagement than reducing bushes in some installations.
  • Excellent for pipe extensions and equipment transitions where thread reduction is required.
  • Smooth, uniform bore helps maintain consistent flow with minimal turbulence.

Material Advantages - 316 Stainless Steel

  • Outstanding corrosion resistance to chemicals, hot water, saltwater and sanitising agents.
  • Safe for breweries, wineries, dairies, distilleries and food-processing environments.
  • Ideal for marine and highly corrosive industrial applications.
  • Retains mechanical strength under pressure, heat and frequent CIP cycles.

Common Applications

  • Reducing male outlets on pumps, tanks and manifolds
  • Washdown and hot/cold water plumbing
  • Food & beverage transfer systems
  • Marine and chemical-handling pipelines

Each reducing socket is precision-machined from solid 316 stainless steel, providing dependable, hygienic thread reduction for sanitary and corrosive environments.

Care information

To ensure maximum service life and safe performance of your equipment, please follow these general care guidelines:

  • Clean after use – Rinse or CIP components to remove product, residue or cleaning chemicals.
  • Avoid kinks, crushing or sharp bends – Protect hoses and assemblies from mechanical damage.
  • Store correctly – Hang hoses or reels where possible; keep fittings and clamps dry and off the floor.
  • Inspect regularly – Check for wear, abrasion, loose clamps, damaged gaskets or compromised seals.
  • Use compatible cleaning chemicals – Follow manufacturer guidelines for caustic, acid or sanitiser exposure.
  • Protect from high heat / UV – Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, heaters or hot surfaces unless rated for it.
  • Depressurise before disconnecting – Always release system pressure before removing hoses or fittings.
  • Replace worn components promptly – Gaskets, clamps, seals and hose ends should be renewed as needed.

Proper routine care extends lifespan, improves hygiene and ensures safe, reliable operation across all brewery, winery, distillery and food-processing environments.
